Yesterday I had written to a friend on Myspace, and I had to use the words "sex toys" in order to describe what the Stockroom sold. When they received the email, Myspace had replaced "sex toys" with ### ####. And then this morning, my photographer buddy Geoff Cordner informed me that Myspace had removed all links to his site from his Myspace profile. I tried it on my profile, and sure enough, all links to my site now direct to the Myspace home page. Umm, I think we're living in China now.
UPDATE: Seems to be widespread. Profiles of Kumi, Miss Conduct, Dave Naz, Masuimi Max, etc, etc, etc... are also affected.

They keep doing the excessive censoring.
Plus they won't leave well enough alone.
They try to improve things that don't need improvement and then break everything.
Screw you Tom. He's totally not in my top friends anymore. :)

My suggestion would be to just post pictures of whatever you think might get censored. They haven't stopped off-site linking to images (yet).
And seriously? WTF is up MySpace's craw?

I hate myspace. I have a profile there because some people insist upon using it.
I will converse with one or two transactions there before it must move to real e-mail.
I have some of what I consider obscene images up there and I am still there. but I figure my time is limited before I get deleted.

the time has come
just like the mass exodus users had from friendster to myspace when friendster was broken, it seems the time has come to leave myspace in the dump, I've noticed people going to Facebook now, but I still think that tribe is the place for mature people and not for kids like friendster and myspace have become.December 16 2007, 12:57:51 UTC 4 years ago
then i noticed that that little message thing said a LOT of people had updatedd their profiles but i didnt notice anything really different.
i guess those were the forced changes myspace did.
i noticed some photos missing. i thought they were there, but then they were not. i wasn't sure. i guess those were edited out.
grr.
i wonder how they make the decision to delete image or delete profile completely...

I think it must be if you piss someone off and they flag yoru profile or the pics then they get deleted.

It's just sad that myspace is taking these measures though, especially after people have taken the time to create profiles and build up a network of friends :(
